Locking liquor cabinet – The main design elements of the design bar is at the bar. Choose from a pre-designed bar, or have a carpenter to make a custom design to fit your space. Include enough cupboard and shelf space for glasses, liquor and wine bottles and bar-ware. Imagine a locking liquor cabinet if you have children or teenagers in the premises. A bench in a natural material like granite is easy to maintain and durable for years to come. Include a sink in the counter to wash glasses or quick cleanup. Consider the amount of floor space when designing a bar. In a room with limited floor space, consider installing a roll bar.
Consider how much space can be used for a home bar, where the preferred location will be. Measure the room or area where the bar will be. Draw on graph paper the desired size of the stack. Will the bar be reached comfortably from one or both sides? Is there room for bar stools in front of the bar? Will you dedicate an entire room for the bar or it will be incorporated into an existing room as the living room? Are there small children in the household? If there are, consider a bar with a locking liquor cabinet. Is there a bathroom nearby? Determine how much storage space will be required for liquor, glassware and bar equipment. Is a back bar, or shelves behind the bar in your plans, so allow extra space easy to move behind the bar.
