Flos lighting – Flos is an international firm of lighting products and systems closely associated with innovation and quality. Founded in 1962 in Merano (Italy) it is known for its creative lighting solutions and its iconic products designed by great designers such as Philippe Starck and Patricia Urquiola, among others. Its decorative lamps have been awarded most prestigious awards, thanks to its typological or luminotechnical inventions. For example, its design Wallpiercing Ron Gilad is now part of permanent collection of MoMA New York and Art Institute of Chicago.
In 2005, its union with Antares, a Spanish manufacturer specialized in lighting large surfaces, flos lighting comes with a wide range of products equipped with superior design and advanced performance. One of his most ambitious and avant-garde projects is Soft Architecture collection, made through an innovative composite material (Under-Cover) that combines light weight and high strength, complying with international safety regulations, sustainability and respect for environment, recyclable and non-combustible.
His business philosophy is summed up in these two sentences: “evolution from product to project, to design lights to measure spaces” and “courage to dare, and even cause without betraying basic principles of design”.
